AGENDA
View “Solid Gold” at the Brooklyn Museum
This exhibit features more than 500 works, pairing showpieces from the collection with stunning international loans. The fashion world’s embrace of gold will be seen in standout designs by Anna Sui, Christian Dior, Halston and many more. Gold-ground paintings and sculptures, coins, and other treasures will sparkle alongside jewelry by Alexander Calder, Belperron, Cartier, Charles Loloma, Jacob & Co, and Verdura—as well as grillz by Gabby Elan.
Visit to the Michelle Varian Shop
This unique store is an unexpected oasis of curious, provocative, and beautiful things from Michele’s own collections of lighting, pillows, and wallpaper, as well as products by 100+ other innovative designers of furniture, home accessories and fine jewelry.
Lunch at a nearby restaurant
Showroom and studio tour of Flavor Paper
Flavor Paper produces wallpaper by handscreened and digital printing; sometimes both for special projects. They produce their own designs and partner with celebrated artists and organizations to realize unique conceptual environments—including the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Travel to Industry City
Studio visit and hand-on workshop with William Storms
William Storms is a mathematically driven craftsman “fortunate enough” to have discovered the loom, which is an ongoing effort to produce three-dimensional work in a traditionally two-dimensional world.
